(Fri May 20, 2011)
Closter gardens will get fresh nourishment this spring. In keeping with the “green” principles espoused by the Borough, Closter’s DPW has been recycling collected garden waste and leaves producing rich, black mulch. Closter gardens will get fresh nourishment this spring. In keeping with the “green” principles espoused by the Borough, Closter’s DPW has been recycling collected garden waste and leaves producing rich, black mulch. For the third year this mulch will be distributed free of charge to Closter residents who register with their request.
In-person registration is required and will take place at the Closter DPW facility between March 18th and March 25th. Valid proof of residency is required at sign-up. The DPW will drop off 3-5 yards of mulch at the homeowner’s driveway. Deliveries will be made the week of March 28th. An adult must be present when the delivery is made.
This is one of the many ways the Borough of Closter is providing increased services while conserving natural resources.
